The Two Top Money-Making Activities in Your Business

Over the past few issues we've been sharing the concept of Money Making Activities versus Money Losing Activities.

Within every business there are activities being performed every day that are actually losing business owners money.

The problem is, they aren't aware of it, because they often can't distinguish between an activity that makes them money and one that loses money.

One of the primary reasons for this is that they don't understand how marketing affects every aspect of their business.

They don't realize that 'marketing is everything you do to attract and keep customers,' which means that marketing is 'everything' you do in your business.

The name you choose for your business can either make you money or lose you money.

The prices you charge for your products or services can either make you money or lose you money.

Your location, how you answer your phone, the offers you make, which marketing vehicles you use to reach your prospective customers, etc. can either make you money or lose you money.

Here's a simple example of a money losing activity.

Let's say that you don't really know how to create a marketing piece that makes money for your business, but you need to create one anyway. Afterwards, as would be expected, the piece doesn't work and you get nothing in return for your efforts.

Many people would conclude that you only lost the cost of the marketing piece, but they would be wrong.

In addition to losing the cost to write the piece and the cost to design and produce the piece, you also lost the cost of placing the piece in a publication or sending it via direct mail, etc.

But the losses don't stop there. You also lost the potential sales you would have gotten from an effective marketing piece, plus any future back-end sales from those new customers as well as any sales and back-end sales from referrals from those new customers.

Those losses can easily add up to thousands of dollars each and every time you perform that money losing activity.

Not all ads, flyers, sales letters, etc. are equal.


One ad might bring little or nothing in return for your time, energy and money.

While another ad could result in thousands of dollars in sales if it is based on a few simple but powerful marketing concepts that are easy to apply -- if you know them.

Trying to market your business without having a proven- effective marketing strategy is a 'huge' money losing activity.

And it's an activity that we see being performed each and every day.

The Top Two Money Making Activities in Your Business

To determine if you're losing enormous amounts of money each day, simply ask yourself these two questions:

1. Do you have a reliable and effective marketing system --money making activity--for attracting large numbers of 'new' interested prospects to your business each week or month?

2. Do you have a reliable and effective marketing system -- money making activity--for converting a percentage of those prospects into happy, loyal customers who buy from you again and again and refer their friends to your business who in turn buy from you again and again, and refer their friends?

If you answered no to either of those questions, then you are performing money losing activities every day.

These are the two activities that we spend most of our time on in our business, and they are the two activities that we have been teaching our clients and customers to focus on for the past 15 years.

Once you understand those two activities and how to perform them, a new world of unlimited financial opportunities opens for you and your family.

If you sell a quality product or service that is in demand then there are very probably hundreds, maybe even thousands of people in your marketplace who would love to buy from you.

Then why aren't they?

Because you are spending your time on money losing activities instead of on the two activities that would attract those potential customers to your business and convert them into loyal customers.

Doesn't that make sense? If you were spending your time on those two proven-effective activities, then you would have more customers than you could handle. That's a much better problem to have--and one that is easily solved.

But you can't perform those two activities if you don't know what they are and how to do them.

Because we understand how those two activities work, we have unlimited opportunities for making more money each and every week, each and every month. And so could you.
